A good leader knows that in order to gain respect, he/she must first show it. A good leader is always willing to provide support, moral or otherwise to the team. In simple words, a good leader has to have a heart that's bigger than his or her ego. Experience, skills, and intelligence can be developed over time, but if a leader does not feel for the people then there is not a single reason for him or her to be in the position to start with.
